Interesting! Guess I'd better plant some tansy. Dill is also super-popular with bees.

Yes, I particularly enjoy watching the wasps balance like ballerinas on the delicate florettes of dill.

I installed my first hive last wkend in my Park Slope backyard garden. I'm a fifth generation gardener and have always thought of the garden as a painting that changes with the season. Now there's a whole new way of looking at it. Can't wait to learn what the bees like.

That is great, Deborah. Congratulations! As a Park Sloper myself, I'll keep an eye out for your bees. And yes, it's amazing how one's perspective on the garden and plants in general changes dramatically once beekeeping enters the picture. Best of luck with your bees, and send updates from time to time.

Also, are you are aware of the NYC Beekeepers Assn.? You may wish to join us!
